You hold in your hand an invitation: to remember the transforming power of forgiveness and loving kindness. To remember that no matter where you are and what you face, within your heart peace is possible.

Guided Meditation + Practice Guidance

with Court Morgan, ERYT500/RYCEP

Meditation is a state of mind that is open, receptive, balanced, and grounded.

Our emphasis in presenting these teachings is to clarify the different attitudes and understandings that can inform our perceptions in practice, cultivating playfulness and flexibility. This allows our practice to be durable and applicable to daily life - and is especially useful to develop a greater sense of ease and well-being in the relationships that we encounter every day.

The Gentle Movement period is just that - gentle, rocking movements done mostly out of gravity (on a blanket on the floor) to help release stagnation, fatigue and pain as you open the hips, low back, and shoulders. Each class is different but the intention is to support the body to sit comfortably during meditation and produce an overall effect of ease and wellbeing.

Please feel free to join for either or both sessions.

more info

  • Available for our use are sitting cushions, chairs and blankets. You are also welcome and encouraged to bring any seating or additional things, like shawls, that are comfortable for you. Wear comfortable clothing and consider bringing a warm pair of socks!

  • No experience or level of fitness needed - we would love for those 14+ and all walks of life to join as called. This location has both an elevator and stairs! As we cannot offer childcare, please leave little ones at home.

  • We accept donations via cash and Venmo. In line with the teachers who share the teachings of the Buddha worldwide (and our own!), we are committed to offering these classes 100% by donation as a means of support for the health, happiness, and well-being of our community. As a project, IS:PVD is honored to be the recipient of great generosity - from the cushions to the space, all that we offer for the support of the community has been given by donation. Please support your teachers!

  • Emerging Energy is located above Cav Restaurant at 14 Imperial Place. Please park or walk through the courtyard on the west side of the building (the side that faces I-95). Head to the green awning that says "14" and hit buzzer #23 to be let in. There is a big parking lot on the west side of the building that has free parking, and plenty of railings and other places you can lock up a bike.

  • Insight Sangha Providence is an Insight or Vipassana meditation group - commonly referred to as mindfulness. We emphasize developing a relaxed continuity of awareness so your practice can be translatable to all of life, from a formal sitting practice to everyday interactions and relationships, helping you to cultivate greater ease and wellbeing. Our aim is to help you develop and strengthen your inner sense of happiness and inner alignment so you can live your life in a way that is grounded, supportive, and nourishing for yourself and everyone around you.

  • Absolutely. Meditation is a natural state of mind that anyone who is interested can learn to access. Your practice will meet you exactly where you are, and we can help you navigate that as it grows. We’ll even give some tips to help you figure out what kind of sitting posture works best for you.

  • Please do! We offer traditional Theravada Buddhist teachings based in the Pali canon and the Satipatthana sutta. If you feel very established in your practice, the energy of sitting in a group once a week can be very supportive for deepening your practice and also introducing a new perspective that you might find helpful along the way. Everything is an offering - take what you need and leave the rest.
