Group Wellness Acupuncture

Now available at Emerging Energy: Group Wellness Treatments! With specific protocols designed for balance, stress relief, calming at the end of a day, and energy and focus midday, these wellness treatments invite you to add more self-care into your week.

It has become more and more clear to us that we all need more self-care. Coming out of/ recovering from the stress of the pandemic, lack of community and connection, pressure to work faster and do more with less time and resources, and overall life stress and overwhelm places many of us in a state of constant stress, exhaustion, and lack of the extra energy necessary to find inspiration and passion to fulfill our potential. We designed our Group Acupuncture treatments to help.

As you might guess, these treatments take place in a small group setting in our newly expanded office space in a room we have been calling Room 7 (it doesn’t have an official door number yet). We have 6 comfortable zero gravity chairs, calming music, heated neck wraps, weighted lap blankets… and yes, mobiles for you to look at during your treatment. They last about 45-50 minutes.

In designing these treatments over the last few months, it was important to me to include a weighted blanket of some sort. I have found weighted blankets (compression therapy) profoundly helpful over the last year to manage my own anxiety, decompress and deeply rest after a long day. I recognized my own burnout from the pandemic stress about 8 months ago, and have been working on recovering by not only watching Netflix with my weighted blanket at the end of the day but by getting more acupuncture and bodywork, listening to and playing more music, turning off the news, prioritizing sleep, listening to my body, and allowing my creativity to recharge my battery. Anyway, a lot of time and energy has been put into the design of these treatments, but you can always opt-out of the weighted lap blanket or heated neck wrap if you’d like or bring headphones for your own music or meditation.

WindDown can aid in relaxation at the end of the day. The points used calm your mind and body and promote sound sleep. MidDay Reset helps focus and energy while decreasing stress. It’s great during a lunch break TuneUp visits promote balance, and some will be focused on Seasonal health and well-being. These treatments can be beneficial for everyone and are not meant to treat a specific health condition.

Is this the same as Community Acupuncture? No! Community Acupuncture offers individualized acupuncture treatments in a group setting on a sliding scale. One of the benefits of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine is that when treating disease, we look at the individual person, diagnose and treat them as a unique being. For example, one person’s case of Migraines is different than another person’s case. Because we treat the PERSON as an individual, our treatments are tailored to the individual and are therefore very effective (this also makes Acupuncture difficult to study). Community Acupuncture is a vital option that provides Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine treatment on a sliding scale because cost can be a barrier to this type of care. We love and highly recommend the folks at Kindred Community Acupuncture, which is located in the same mill as Jordan’s Jungle, which we also love and highly recommend.

At Emerging Energy, our Group Acupuncture treatments use set protocols that are beneficial for overall Wellness and relaxation. They are health promoting and stress relieving.

Can we bill insurance for Group Acupuncture at Emerging Energy? No! Because we are doing pre-determined protocols, treatments in a communal setting for wellness and relaxation, and not treating specific diseases, we cannot bill these visits to insurance.

Life can be overwhelming and stressful, and we know Acupuncture can help. We want to bring this type care to more people in our community, to improve our collective wellbeing, so we hope you spread the word if you’ve had a good experience with Acupuncture!

We also hope to see you at a Group Acupuncture session in the near future!
